Answering the Call

On January 9, we sent out an S.O.S. call requesting donations of blankets, essentials, and animal food for those affected by the fires in Los Angeles as an extension of the American Legion Post 820's efforts in Imperial Beach in coordination with Post 43 in Hollywood.

By request, we created an online fundraising campaign page where supporters can donate funds for our members to purchase needed items on their behalf.

We received $100 in donations so far. Thank you, donors! We bought kids' pants and nonperishable food and dropped them off today. They are being sorted and boxed up to take to L.A. this week.

We also stuck around the American Legion Post 820 in Imperial Beach to help sort through all the donations and found blankets from Altrusa International of San Diego! They were so grateful for all our Altrusa support 🤗🫶🏻
